If you are a regular reader of the blog you will know that we headed to Camp Bestival at the end of July.

Four days, four children in a tent…what could possibly go wrong?

Reflecting on our time at Camp Bestival on the way home, it was clear that we all had different ‘best bits’. This just shows the variety at Camp Bestival and the vastness of what there is to do there from young to old.

So here goes…all our best bits from youngest to oldest

Little man

• He loved the space to just run, he referred to anywhere outside of the tent as “the garden” and loved nothing more than running around barefoot
• He loved Lizzie’s Way, making potions and mud cakes
• He loved dancing to all the music
• He loved playing in the sand pits
• He loved making a den in the wood
• He loved riding in the trolley
• He loved all the bubbles everywhere
• He loved being messy
• He loved the fireworks
• He loved the tiny tots play area

The threenager

• He loved chalking
• He loved playing outside the tent with new friends he made
• He loved all the bubbles
• He loved Lazy Town Live
• He loved making potions in Lizzie’s Way
• He loved holding a baby chick
• He loved drinking slush
• He loved the craft tent
• He loved Mr Tumble

The big boy

• He loved the science tent
• He loved singing on stage in the big top everyday
• He loved using a hammer and nails and building a den
• He loved the giant bouncy castle
• He loved sleeping in the tent
• He loved the unicycles
• He loved Lazy Town Live
• He loved Dick and Dom
• He loved playing head chef and running the kitchen in Lizzie’s Way
• He loved making potions down in Lizzie’s Way
• He loved meeting the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters

The big girl

• She loved getting dressed up every day and choosing he clothes, hair and festival make up
• She LOVED meeting Jess Glynne – a dream come true!
• She loved circus skills and hula hooping in particular
• She loved eating Paella
• She loved the whole festival vibe
• She loved listening to live music
• She loved the fireworks
• She loved singing on stage everyday in the big top
• She loved West End Kids
• She loved Brit School
• She loved the tug of war
• She loved making potions down in Lizzie’s Way

The grown ups

• We loved having the trolley to carry children and stuff around
• We loved the Shaken Udder milkshakes
• We loved Jess Glynne, Katy B and FatBoy Slim
• We loved watching the children have fun
• We loved being all together
• We loved watching the children perform in the big top
• We loved the Raclette
• We loved the sunshine

We had a great time and experienced so many different things, it really is hard to quantify just how much the children got out of the festival.
