Growing up: part one

It can be hard ‘allowing’ children to grow up sometimes.

Each time the children have a birthday I think “how did that happen?” . I look at them and they look taller, their understanding of life and all it encompasses increases and they question things more and more.

Of course, each time they have a birthday it is also a realisation that I am getting older too.

I do remember what it was like to be a teenager and also a pre-teen but I don’t remember any particular issues before that.

It seems that children grow up faster somehow today.

This is the first in a series of articles looking at growing up and how the pressure can be relieved from both children and parents. Sometimes the things that can help these situations are very small things.

In our house we have the ‘big kids’ and the ‘babies’. Whilst the big kids are more than happy to munch on the babies’ rice cakes or slurp one of their smoothies, sometimes they just need big kid stuff.

They love this range of toiletries by Professor Scrubbingtons. They look more like grown up products, but they still have easy opening and dispensing, magically foam up and are kind to little peoples’ skin.

These are great for sleepovers and school trips as well as they don’t leak. If you fancy giving them a go, just pop over to the website  and enter code BM20 at the checkout to get a discount.

What do you remember being difficult when you were growing up?

  1. I feel that way too about letting them grow up! They do seem to grow up quickly.

My baby is turning 3 on Sunday so there will be no more babies in our house! EEK!

    1. Oh gosh – It’s hard isn’t it. Exciting to move onto the next stage but then sad you won’t have the tiny people any more 🙁 🙂

  2. It’s my youngest birthday next week and he’ll be 4. I can’t believe it. In so many ways he’s still tiny and I don’t want him to grow up….he’s growing to quickly. But of me is happy though as I know there will be new adventures awaiting us. Thanks for linking up with us on the #bigfatlinky hope to see you there next week
