A day in the life of a toddler

Any parent will know that for toddlers each day is epic. A toddlers’ day is action packed and full of a mixed bag of emotions. At times toddlers can come across as having multiple personalities. How many times have you heard yourself say “they are a different child when….” or been left wondering what just happened to turn your angelic little one into a little devil?

You see, toddlers are trying to process information so fast that they can’t always control their emotions as well. Whether it is laughter, crying, being playful, being cross, being frustrated with someone, something or just the silly pair of socks that won’t go on the right way around, it can be a lot to take in.

A day in the life of a toddler can consist of:

Exploring

Thinking

Sulking

Being cheeky

Finding a good stick

Loosing a good stick

play

Trying new things

Finding everything funny

Being sad…

crisis

You’ve guessed it…that awful moment when you bite the head off your gingerbread man and instantly regret it because you know that he will never be the same again!

It’s tough being a toddler and managing all these competing emotions!

  1. Yep! This completely sums up my 2 yr old. She can be so happy and giggle her head of because I’ve given her a gingerbread man, to then complete depression because he is broken (By her eating him) and he no longer has a head.

  2. What a beautiful post!! Sums it up quite nicely, and makes me remember that inbetween the tantrums, toddlerhood is amazing <3
