Long-lasting make up

Are you a mum who rarely wears make up or someone who never leaves the house without it?

I really admire mum’s who can quite happily go out without so much as waving a concealer wand over their faces. How do you all look that good?

I’m not one of those mum’s. I never leave the house without some make up on. I’m someone who feels bald without mascara on, and in a nutshell, after 11 years of sleep deprivation, make up makes me feel a whole lot better.

However, I don’t, like most mum’s have the luxury of time when it comes to applying it and neither do I have the time or opportunity for any touch ups during the day.

I need easy to apply, long lasting make up that I just apply once a day. Some of my favourite items are:

  • Vichy Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation  – it’s said to last for 16 hours which is pretty impressive and from experience that’s pretty accurate. It gives great coverage without being heavy on the skin and hides all sorts! It has an SPF 35 which is always a good thing and it blends really easily.
  • Vichy Dermablend SOS Cover Stick – this is also said to last 16 hours, and again I think that’s pretty accurate. It works really well with the Fluid Foundation and blends superbly whilst giving great coverage on dark circles and other blemishes. This comes in five shades and has an SPF of 25.
  • Bourjois 24 hour Cream to Powder Eyeshadow – I really love this as it is very quick to apply and lasts well, 24 hours is a little over the top I think, but it certainly lasts about 12 hours.
  • Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara – While I’ve explored various mascaras over the years, my go-to choices have consistently been from Bourjois or Maybelline. Recently, I discovered a remarkable mascara that excels in all aspects – it’s perfect for applying hybrid lashes. This product stands out for its easy application, providing impressive coverage and volume, and its resilience, making it an ideal choice even during those wet school runs.

  1. I’m an oily bitch so I bake my entire face with translucent powder for 10 minutes then use my KVD foundation powder to dust away from the extra. then to get rid of the powdery look i use setting spray, fan dry with my hands and then do the rest of my makeup and set AGAIN with setting spray afterwards. I stay oil free for 12-14 hours with that technique :D

  2. Great post! I tried Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara and I must agree with you that it is brilliant as it’s easy to apply and that it gives good coverage and volume> Thank you very much for this post . I find here great stuff as always 🙂
