Practical jackets for little tots

Sadly the days of leaving the house without a coat of some description are well in the past with Autumn firmly upon us.

I don’t know about you, I want the children to be snug, but trying to wrestle little ones into their car seats with the added bulk of a winter coat can be a nightmare.

“Just wait until you get to your destination and then put their coat on” someone said to me last week – a great theory, but it doesn’t work so well when it is raining or when you need to be quick.

I’m not sure the school bell would hold whilst I take my time getting two little people into their coats so we can drop off the big kids, or equally that other parents would wait patiently while I then de-robe them and get them back in the car.

Sometimes you just need to get going don’t you?

Equally, you don’t always want your little ones in a bulky coat in the pushchair either.

Vertbaudet have some super rain jackets like this fleece-lined parka, and at £27.00 this is ideal for day-to-day when we are in and out of the car, or when it isn’t really cold enough for a big jacket.

I absolutely love the yellow and it helps me keep a track of the little man at the same time – plus it’s a winner with him as it has cars all over the back of it. This is really well made and the cuffs are especially good as the rain can’t easily get down the sleeves. Another bonus is that the zipper is easy for little fingers to get hold of, meaning the little man can take his jacket off himself.

What do you look for in a winter coat or rain jacket?

  1. Lovely jacket – sometimes you do just need a lightweight one for those autumn mornings! Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
