Smoothie recipe and blender giveaway

A new year often signals the start of a new regime for some people. I’m a bit of a smoothie fan and I have to say that as much as a cocktail making course would appeal, so would a smoothie making course.

I love anything green, anything with berries in and anything that has the word “superfood” in, I am naturally drawn to.

The best smoothie I have ever had was in Texas in a sports cafe on a university campus. I watched in awe as they produced this bucket load of goodness for me. Amazing!

If you are a fan of a good smoothie you might want to check out these amazing smoothie recipes at Healthsomeness. There are loads of great ones to choose from, and they all state how many calories they contain and the health benefits of all the ingredients.

I really like the look of “Vitimin C is good for me” – this is 180 calories and contains:

  • 1/4 cup of papaya
  • 1 medium kiwifruit
  • 1/4 cup of guava
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • 1/2 cup of kale
  • 1/4 cup of strawberries
  • 1/2 cup of parsley

  1. What sort of smoothie would you make? . . . . . .a raspberry one, anything with raspberries in it

  2. I’ve been using my food processor to make smoothies (would be much improved with a proper blender) and I’ve discovered that as long as it has a lovely ripe mango in it, any smoothie is delicious!!

  3. I’d make a large banana and chocolate smoothie and enjoy it. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we diet 🙂

  4. I love bananas and raspberries, so just a simple two-fruit combination would be lovely. I sometimes add milk too

  5. I would use my homegrown black, white and red currants and raspberries and gooseberries to make the smoothie.

  6. apple and raspberry smoothie would be my first choice, but I think my little ones would get in there first with a banana smoothie 🙂

  7. I’d try something I’ve never tried and it would be cabbage and berries. It looks amazingly high in antioxidants and something I need to aid my ill health and although cabbage sounds rather strange and daunting, I’d love to try it.

  8. My first one would have to be one of my favourites I’ve tried and that’s passion fruit, mango and orange pm tasty

  9. love my smoothies throw a combination of what ever in fidge and cupboard blitz then drink yum xx

  10. I am not very adventurous so probably just a combo of almond milk, banana (frozen) and then any berries I can get on special offer
