Spring style update for girls: part one

The weather in North Wales is still rather wintry at the moment. Lots of rain, LOTS of wind and even some snow last week.

However, I have begun the process of going through the children’s spring and summer stuff and seeing what still fits and what doesn’t in anticipation that there are warmer, less windy days around the corner.

I always carry out this process with my daughter as she is very much a part of her style choices. She doesn’t grow out of things very quickly as she is super skinny but her taste changes so my questions are always – what doesn’t fit? AND what are you no longer going to wear?

We then normally either pass things on to people we know (as she has three brothers) or we take things to Barnardo’s, normally our charity of choice.

After this, we then look at new things out there that she likes and we also consider what is ‘missing’ from her collection and try to fill those gaps.

She loves versatile items that she can wear all year around. So for example she loves tailored or denim shorts as she will wear these will tights and boots in the winter. She is into layering and very co-ordinated as well.

These are some of the new additions to her wardrobe this spring…

A showerproof parka, this comes in three colours and is a nice option for spring as it keeps her dry without being too bulky or warm. It is reduced at the moment too, so an extra bargain. You can take a look here – it is by Vertbaudet, who have lots of lovely bright things for spring and summer for both girls and boys.

This clever reversible dress is also reduced at the moment. This looks great with the jacket as well as a nice smart set. nicely fitted in top with a drop waist. This is also reduced at the moment so the whole set is a real bargain and looks great. The dress is also available in three colours and can be found here.

We still have a few things to stock up on for this spring/summer but this outfit is a good start and will be really versatile.
