Tea and weight loss

The internet is flooded with ‘incredible’ ways to make weight loss easier, although I’m still looking for the miracle! Those which work might either help to ‘mould’ your brain or stomach with the support of a healthy lifestyle. Some of the unhealthy practices obviously include smoking and excessive drinking, having too much fatty food, drinking tea and so on. Nope, that’s not a typo! Too much tea is going to make your weight loss difficult especially the strong black tea with milk and sugar.

The culprits of Weight Gain in Tea

Scientists have discovered that tea contains high levels of compounds that help to reduce the amount of fat absorbed by the gut and can cut cholesterol, but it also often comes with it’s culprits.

Culprit 1: Milk

Since proteins found in cows’ milk neutralise the fat fighting ability, tea could be preventing you from losing weight. The type of protein we are talking about appears to limit the metabolism-enhancing effects of anything that you might be having for its potential weight loss benefits, even if you are having a green tea. So, for the best weight-loss results, try to eliminate milk or cream in your tea.

Culprit 2: Sugar

Likewise, you should also not add sugar, as this just adds empty calories to your tea without adding any other benefits from any sort of essential nutrients. Not everyone likes plain tea, but instead of adding sugar there are plenty of other potentially beneficial additions you can use to improve both the flavor and your weight loss. As a tip for those who want a touch of sweetness in their tea, try to add honey instead of sugar. However, keep the honey to a minimum if you want to lose weight as it is still going to bring in calories.

Weight-Loss teas

Some of these have had some bad press over the years. Weight-loss teas often contain herbal ingredients like buckthorn, aloe, cascara sagrada, senna or other laxative herbs, which can make them rather impractical. Leave out the ones with senna if you have sensitive digestion or irritable bowel. Don’t worry if you happen to use the bathroom more often after drinking these teas. That’s good as you are also losing the water weight, but once you’re properly hydrated, that weight might come right back.

The catechins found in cbd green tea, help to enhance the fat loss you achieved by exercising, as per the study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2009. Green tea has helped a lot of people with weight loss but these may multiply in those who usually get a lot of caffeine in their diet. This is why slimming tea often uses a combination of catechins and caffeine in synergy to increase fat burning while decreasing appetite. Both of these may be equally responsible for the weight loss effects. Although, studies say drinking 4 cups of green tea per day may lead to an additional 5 pounds of weight loss over the course of the eight-week, you need to cut calories and increase your physical activity for such significant weight loss, sadly it isn’t the magic cure!

  1. I tried a tea detox course and you are right about the bathroom usage. I was worried about using the teas because of this! if though you says its all normal, I might start trying them again!

  2. I love reading this post. Your tips are good. But you can add more thinks such as going to GYM. But i have an opinion about gym. people of general life leading can not always get much time to go to a gym. In that case they can buy some advanced gymnastic item such as Exercise Bikes, treadmill, elliptical, etc.
