When you aren’t Supermum

Being a mum is a tough job, there is no disputing that. What is even tougher, is being a mum who holds strong convictions on how to raise her children, work, as well as do all the chores at home. Parenting is one of the most rewarding things out there, but even the ideal multitasking, supermum has her bad day where things just go wrong. We’ve all had those days right?

supermum

Have you ever had a day where no matter how efficiently you juggle your schedule, how carefully you plan things, how prudently you control the situation, things just fall apart? Yes, we all have. Here is a list of things I have compiled on how to turn a bad day into a good one again. Even the best of us can’t be perfect, and sometimes the best thing is to just call it a day.

Let go

Yes, the prospect of letting go of our carefully planned day may be scary, and not something I find at all easy, but it is essential occasionally to just break away from the regualr schedule. While it may sound scary to relinquish control, it may be just the thing you need.

Don’t stress

Sometimes when you have a lot on life can seem overwhelmingly busy. This means that even the smallest of things can be viewed as a big deal. It’s easy to get caught up in the frustration and pull your hair out. Instead, take a deep breath and decide on a quick to-do list. Complete the immediate tasks while completely forgetting the small things that can be ignored. You will notice that as you systematically go about solving each problem, the little ones may be resolved themselves.

pamper

Pamper yourself

A tired, ratty mummy is not an asset to her family, so even if you think you don’t have time, make some time to just soak in the tub for two hours, or throw yourself around to an exercise DVD maybe. Not only will you feel so much more refreshed, but you will also realise that you are more attentive and positive towards your loved ones. Yoga works for some people too, even if it’s just a few moves at home in your lounge.

Engage in excitement

Whilst I don’t think I would ever describe life as boring, I have heard other mums say this. I think, really what most of them seem to be referring to is the monotony of daily tasks, rather than life itself. To combat this, short bursts of excitement can be really valuable. It really depends what sort of things you are into really. Perhaps you are a sports enthusiast and there is something new you want to try, or maybe you enjoy high speed activities? If you are more of a home bird you could try your hand at a fast paced computer game, do some crazy dancing with the children, or just play a fun game of bingo and make yourself money while interacting with new people. Look at the Dotty bingo page for more attractive bonus offer offers, promotions and more.

We can’t always be supermum but by breaking away from the tight ship you run occasionally, you might find that the cape comes out more often!
