The summer school holidays have arrived, the cost of living is through the roof and lots of families will be struggling to feed and entertain their children all summer. If you are concerned about this, as well as all the uniform costs for September here are a few ways to save money online.
Signing up to mailing lists
Simply by signing up to a website mailing list can save you 10-15%, so why not? So many companies offer this these days, so you will be able to get offers on everything from school uniform to days out.
Search out the companies you want to buy from, check out if they offer sign up discounts, sign up and then give it 24 hours to allow your discount code to come through, as some don’t come through straight away. You don’t want to pay more than you have to, so be patient.
First shop offers
When it comes to food shops, you can benefit from getting all the new customer offers from all the supermarkets, whilst you sample them all and compare cost and quality, as well as choice. For example, some supermarkets offer up to £20 off a first shop, by taking advantage of a different offer each week you could probably get through the summer holidays without paying full price for your shop.
Chances are as well, that if you don’t shop somewhere for a few weeks they will then send you another voucher to encourage you back, so you could get a couple of cycles of these kinds of discounts, if you are savvy about the way you shop.
Using coupons and discount codes
When shopping for things online, it’s always worth a quick search to see if you can find any discount codes or coupons to use, before you checkout. Why pay more than you have to? Sites like Coupon Blender can save you huge amounts of money on all sorts of things. Whether you need to get all the kids new trainers, school shoes for the new term, stationary or stock up on snacks – look for a coupon before you part with your hard earned money.
Using a browser extension
If you’ve tried all these ideas and you are still looking to make some savings you could always look for a free browser extension to get some further discounts. There are some out there that allow you to sign up for free and get discounts on products via their site. It’s worth a google to see if you can find a relevant one to you.
Using apps
I’ve noticed over the last 12 months that many companies are now offering discounts on products if you order via their apps, presumably this is to encourage greater download rates. Nevertheless, if it saves you money, why not? Check out your favourite stores and see if they offer this.
Do you have any tips of your own for saving money online? I’d love to hear them in a comment below.
