Nesting…it’s a funny old thing isn’t it?
Did you do much nesting when pregnant? How did your nesting instinct change with different pregnancies?
Did you nest more with one child than another?
I think I ‘nested’ with all of my pregnancies. Most of this involved a massive cooking session a few weeks before the babies were born, freezing lots of meals to make sure we had lots of tasty but healthy things to eat afterwards.
Nesting for me also involved washing lots of baby clothes, preparing my hospital bag and after my first pregnancy, preparing all the other children.
What did you get up to?
Check this video out – it explains all about nesting.
Milton have carried out a survey on nesting which is the largest survey of its kind. They have also linked nesting instincts with spending habits of mums-to-be. The study has discovered some interesting spending habits of mums-to-be.
- Majority (81%) of first-time mums admit to spending up to £3,000 in preparation for first baby
- 35% of mums spent between £1,500 – £3,000 (& some spent over £3,000)
- For the 2nd child, only 7% of mums spent £1,500 – £3,000
- For the 2nd child, 55% spent under £500
How do you think this compares with what you spent?
