Shopping Across the Miles: Christmas With Moonpig

So, 2020 has been quite the year hasn’t it? If you’d said to me this time last year that a global pandemic was coming, which would mean we would all have to wear face coverings, social distance and that everyone would have to stay at home, well – I would have laughed and told you to lay off the disaster movies no doubt!

Christmas isn’t cancelled

Christmas is going to look pretty different this year for people everywhere. If you are used to having huge numbers of people around the table on Christmas Day you may be disappointed this year. Life is very different at the moment.

Christmas isn’t cancelled though, so don’t despair. Santa and his elves have been preparing everything at a social distance for months now and they are getting ready to climb aboard the sleigh all masked up, with lots of hand sanitiser and disinfectant sprays.

You can still watch Christmas movies, dance around to Mariah, bake all the tasty Christmas things and build a gingerbread house. You can still go on long walks, play board games and have a glass of mulled wine. You can still leave a carrot for Rudolf and a mince pie for Santa. You can still pop on the Christmas bedding, decorate a tree and enjoy spending time with those you live with.

You can access Skype, Zoom, Teams, facetime, What’s App, email, telephone and text and even snail mail – to remind those you aren’t able to spend time with that you are thinking of them and miss them. You can set up a Christmas Quiz and get friends and family to join in online – whilst there are lots of things we can’t do this year, there are loads of things we can do!

Gifts across the miles

When it comes to giving gifts, Christmas 2020 could be quite different to Christmas’s gone by. If you are used to driving long distances to see friends and family and deliver presents, you may have to re-think how you approach gift giving this year.

If you are in need of a little bit of help and inspiration, don’t worry, Moonpig have you covered. This Christmas you can find tons of wonderful personalised Christmas cards and brilliant Christmas gifts available from Moonpig. If you haven’t shopped with Moonpig before, I highly recommend you take a look, they’ve been a lifesaver for us this year in particular as gifts and cards can be sent straight to the recipient. I’ve been able to send flowers to friends and loads of birthday and get well soon cards to friends and family members, without having to set foot inside a shop or even go to a post box.

For an even easier shopping experience just download their app. It’s very easy to use and in a few simple clicks you can have a gift and card on its way to a loved one.

Search with ease by looking at the individual categories, gifts for kids? No problem, gifts for him or her? No problem either. You can easily filter both gifts and cards to highlight the type of recipient.

The shopping experience with Moonpig is quick, enjoyable and totally stress free. If you are having to isolate at the moment and worried about getting shopping done, Moonpig could save the day (and they sell gin, so…winner).

I’ve been doing the bulk of my Christmas shopping online for a number of years now, so in some respects this year won’t be an awful lot different. There will be some difference in how the gifts get to people though, as it seems likely there will still be restrictions at Christmas. Buying gifts that can be sent directly to the recipient is looking like quite a good plan B.
