The Easter holidays are fast approaching and many parents are starting to question how they will fill the days without spending a small fortune.

Free or low cost activities 

Of course, there are plenty of things that are either totally free or just cost the price of fuel or a parking ticket, so remember that and don’t feel pressured to book tons of expensive days out.

If you live near to the sea, why not get some beach time in over the Easter break? Take a walk, have a paddle, explore the rock pools, look out for wildlife, or even go on a litter pick and give your local environment a boost.

Perhaps you live near a lake or reservoir, or a country park. Get outside, walk together, ride bikes and scooters, explore the local area.

Want to stay indoors? You could see what’s happening at your local leisure centres, libraries, youth clubs and community centres. Many places have free or small cost activities running through the school holidays that you could potentially get involved in.

No access to a car and can’t afford public transport for the whole family? Why not go on an adventure at home? Let the children camp out in the lounge/back garden/yard, have a movie day with some popcorn or do some Easter crafts or baking perhaps? Check you local Facebook groups for local Easter activities too. Many places arrange Easter Egg Hunts for a small fee or donation.

Out and about with tastecard

If you are looking for a bigger day out you could do something like LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTRE in Birmingham and get the combi SEA LIFE ticket for £29.50 per person.
