When you are having a baby the list of things to buy can seem endless. Ranging from the essential baby shampoo for sensitive skin, to entertainment, like activity tables.
We don’t need everything people tell us we need, but there are a few things that are really useful and a good way to spend your money.
Activity tables have become highly popular over recent years. They come in different shapes and sizes and are an affordable toy to get for your little one.
Activity tables come with a variety of features that keep your baby entertained. They tend to be brightly coloured and have levers, buttons and sounds that your child can interact with.
Most are designed for children aged 9 months or older and come with removable legs so that they can be played with even if your infant has not started walking yet.
These toys provide a number of benefits:
Intellectual stimulation
Activity tables come with plenty of learning features that help to teach your baby about letters, numbers, shapes, colours, music and time concepts. Studies have found that children who are exposed to brain stimulating activities at an early age are more likely to have higher IQ’s.
Physical development
Some activity tables require a fair amount of movement from your child, which helps to develop and strengthen certain muscles in their body. Fine and gross motor skills are enhanced when your baby interacts with the table.
Reduces boredom
Most babies are super excited when they are presented with a new toy, but tend to quickly lose interest if it lacks features. This is generally not the case with activity tables because they come with plenty of features. This is beneficial for both of you because it keeps your baby entertained for long periods of time and also gives you a chance to take a break every now and again, maybe even make yourself a drink!
Well-known toy makers such as Fisher-Price, VTech and Baby Einstein all sell baby activity tables, so you are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing one. If you are confused about which one to get, you can find out more about the best baby activity tables here.
We had a few different ones over the years but they were all a great buy and got so much use.
If you don’t already have one, I highly recommend getting an activity table for your baby!

My youngest loves her activity table and often goes back to play with it throughout the day
Yes they are so good for so many things aren’t they and they last for ages as many grow with the child.
