Getting Festive: Win A Gingerbread House Kit

One of our favourite Christmas traditions every year is making a gingerbread house together. They NEVER look like the pictures on the box, but we really don’t care. It’s all about the process of building together and of course eating it afterwards.

Now you can do the same! Bake and decorate a beautiful festive gingerbread house for all the family to enjoy.

Inspired by the tale of Hansel & Gretel, make the house of your dreams with lots of piped icing and colourful sweets. Made in Britain, with a delicious recipe from chef Michel Roux, this fun set is relatively easy to do and comes with full baking instructions. In the box you’ll find all the dry ingredients plus a piping bag and plenty of sweets – all you need to add is the water, egg and butter, with a little creativity.

  1. We’ve made one in the past with a kit and one without – it was easier with a kit! It’s not really a tradition for us as it depends if we have the time to do it but we always do some sort of festive baking!

  2. It’s not, but I’d like to do one. I love ginger and Gingerbread, but I prefer soft Gingerbread and that wouldn’t work for building with

  3. We normally do gingerbread men but haven’t done a gingerbread house yet. We love gingerbread (and Hansel and Gretel!), so definitely should give it a try

  4. My family always joint decorates a gingerbread house, but we normally buy them premade and decorate them. So having one that you have to do make would really excelled experience.

  5. Yes. Jinglrs the Elf brings out gingerbread house every year. The children love to build it with daddy.

  6. Yes it is, we have a group of us that get together and make one each and this is the first year we haven’t been able to get together to do it, but we’re all doing them at home still! It’s definitely something we’re going to continue doing.

  7. No, it’s not something we usually do! My daughter doesn’t like gingerbread so she’s not that interested (but I do!)

  8. No not really, my son has been too young for this on previous Christmases, although he is 2 this year so we might start doing this as a tradition 🙂

  9. We’ve never actually made one! I’d love for us to start it as a tradition this year. we’re really trying to make this year as special as we can.

  10. Building one isnt but we usually go to the US to Disney in Nov when they have their xmas decs up and we visit the one in the grand floridian etc – unfortunately that hasnt happened this year

  11. It certainly is a family tradition, about this time every year and this year we are making gingerbread men as well

  12. It’s not a family tradition and I’ve never done one before, but I’d love to try it with a kit for our first go.

  13. I’ve never made one, but I do love gingerbread and I’m hoping to do lots of things like this with my little boy when he finishes school, maybe start a new tradition…

  14. No it’s not. I’ve only ever built one once cos we felt like we were missing out! It is something I would love to do though, just never seem to get round to buying the stuff

  15. I have tried to make gingerbread houses with the children but they always end up wonky at best or collapsed in a heap!

  16. We make loads of Christmas bakes but never attempted a gingerbread house. Would love to add this to out Christmas plans

  17. We have never built one which is really odd considering how much we all love Christmas! I must do one this year, although time is ticking, how are we halfway through december

  18. My daughter and I build one every year. We’ve tried really hard to bake our own one but it never works so now we buy a kit and decorate it instead!

  19. We always wait until we are all available to set up the Christmas tree and Christmas decorations whilst we listen to our favourite Christmas songs!
