Do your children love to be creative?
Do you feel you have exhausted all the drawing, colouring, and crafting options?
Are you looking for outdoor creative play options?
Here are a few ideas of things you could try:
- Collect things from the garden, the park or when out on a walk and use them to make a collage or a sculpture
- Save grass cuttings and use them to make shapes or pictures
- Try stamping kits, these can get messy so being outside for this is not a bad idea
- Save cardboard boxes and use them outside to make sculptures or build an assault course
- Chalk on flagstones or a driveway, this is great fun but can get messy so put them in old clothes
- Use empty plastic bottles to make rockets and launch them in the garden – full of water of course for some splashtastic fun
What sorts of creative play do your little ones enjoy?

We go through mountains of chalk weekly here in the summer. The 5 y/o could draw for hours in the garden. I love it, anything for a few mins peace haha
Brilliant isn’t it! Thanks for reading.
Ooh some lovely new ideas here hon – not thought of using the cardboard boxes outside or bottles for rockets – love! x #twinklytuesday
We launch them into the field behind lol!
I always for get to save my cardboard boxes! I’ve got to remember to keep those around!
The children have put in a request to make a train with seats this summer – this could take a few boxes me thinks!
We just got 2 packs of outdoor chalks for my son’s birthday, he’s already had a great time drawing all over the garden with them! x
So simple but brilliant fun!
Some great ideas – thank you 🙂 #TwinklyTuesdays
Thanks for reading!
Ohh some great ideas, we ususally just stick to painting so will be good to try something new. I am intrigued by these water bottle rockets?!xx #TheList
Ah – the older ones love to do that!
We love chalking outside! And the beauty is that when it rains you can start all over again (with the added bonus that it gets clean too!) X
Opps sorry forgot to say thanks for linking this up at #sharethejoy x
Yes exactly – perfect really !
We had a huge art morning this morning! Zach got down to his nappy and got his paints out and his stamping kit! We have his best work to date yet and he was such a happy boy! I must let him do chalk outside! I forgot about that but you’ve reminded me that I loved doing that as a kid! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
Oh fab! Yes stamping is most certainly a nappy activity – thanks for reading 🙂
Some really lovely ideas! I always think I should keep boxes for things like this but then never get around to coming with an idea of what to do with them – a fort would be very popular!
Thanks for linking up to #TheList xx
Yes a fort, train, boat, pirate ship – these always go down well in our house OR just a good old den!
Some lovely ideas here. Thank you. Creative play is a little limited here, due to my daughter’s ASD, but she loves painting and drawing
We do a lot of drawing but we should paint more really 🙂
