*WIN* Botley The Coding Robot

You might have seen my article recently containing a review of Botley the Coding Robot. If not you can read it here. Read on for details about how to win your very own Botley.

BOTLEY® 2.0 ACTIVITY SET

A while back we were sent a Botley® 2.0 Activity Set – the next generation of coding robot from Learning Resources to try out with the children. This robot is designed to offer an introduction to coding to children (and their parents if they don’t code themselves).

A PARENT’S PERSPECTIVE

From my point of view coding is and has always been a foreign language. Helping the boys set up Botley and play with him has helped simplify things hugely for me. In particular using the secret codes.

In short, this toy is a great introduction to coding.

Learning Resources have a brilliant selection of coding toys as well as some fun screen-free coding activities you can do here and here. Visit Learning Resources for more information: www.learningresources.co.uk

Competition Time

Now the exciting part. I’m pleased to say that we have another Botely to give away to one lucky Mummy Fever reader. This would make a wonderful gift for someone this Christmas.

    1. I did a course on computer programming many years ago. My grandson though is active in learning to code.

  1. I don’t have any real knowledge, I am trying to learn though as it definitely seems to be a skill worth learning.

  2. Absolutely none. We all perhaps need to start somewhere, somehow. Meanwhile we want to support the youngsters in any way we can. This prize would help, as it would be gifted.

    1. Not very much but my kids have done a little bit and are interested in learning more.. My son learnt a little bit at the library before the pandemic.

  3. I know a little but I’d love to get started with my children. My 10 year old is really interested.

  4. Fantastic prize. My grand daughter would love this. She could teach me a little bit about coding

  5. I’ve done a little bit through work before, but would like to learn more – and to get the children engaged in this important skill

  6. I only have very basic knowledge of coding from teaching it to my year 3/4 class on a website called Purple Mash

  7. I used to be pretty good at HTML coding when I was a teenager, but it’s all totally out of date now! Other than that I’m useless – but it’s something that really interests me.

  8. I did i tiny part at uni, but it would probably be very different now. I know that it is something that they are learning at a young age now.

  9. I do not know anything about coding. I am sure my grandchildren could help me out with it. We could all learn together.

  10. ONly what my 6 yr old has taught me! He downloaded the beebot app on my phone, its quite good once youve been shown by a young child how to use it!

  11. No! I have zero knowledge of coding but my son is at an age where all gift guides etc say to get them into coding. I don’t really understand it myself but I think it would be beneficial to my son.

  12. Not a clue but my older son has been learning at school and is really enjoying it. I’d love this to learn with my younger son.

  13. I have absolutely no idea about coding! This would be wonderful for me and my daughter to learn together.

  14. I haven’t a clue about coding and I’m so impressed by some of the things my boys know! It’s a great ski to have.
