Alternative hot drinks

Are you a big tea or coffee drinker?

I know some people who seem to live on tea or coffee, some a combination of both.

I love the smell of coffee and one of my childhood memories is going to a traditional coffee bean shop with my dad on a Saturday to get beans for my parents’ coffee maker. I associate the smell of coffee with that memory and I love it. I have never drunk coffee however, it’s just not for me.

Neither am I a tea drinker, again never have been and I really can’t stand the stuff. I know that as a British person that is almost a criminal offence but I have got through life thus far without tea.

My hot drink of choice is hot chocolate. It has always been and it has to be ‘proper’ hot chocolate, made with milk, not water. It helps me get through the day, just like tea and coffee for other people. I also try to have a few cups of green tea which I have come to enjoy and find this cleansing. If I need a different kind of hot drink I have often gone for something like a hot squash, something I also associate with my childhood.

With the summer holidays in sight many busy parents will be juggling life and its demands more and more. Given this, you might be looking for something a bit more than your normal tea or coffee fix. A mug of Horlicks Traditional is packed with 14 key nutrients including Vitamin B6 which contributes to the normal functioning of both the nervous and immune system and can reduce tiredness and fatigue. It is also low fat and a source of protein.

  1. I’m a real coffee lover – except in the evening when it has to be cammomile tea.

  2. You sound so much like me! I love the smell of coffee but drinking it isn’t for me, I’ve never drunk tea either, and hot chocolate is my hot drink of choice 🙂

  3. Strong black coffee, no sugar. I love the smell of ground coffee, especially first thing in the morning!
