Dear children,
I have been hearing and reading for several weeks now about all the things other mummies would like for Mother’s Day.
These things range from:
- A posh spa day to a new handbag
- From a new laptop to having their nails done
- From a meal out to a week away
Many of their requests are very grand. Many of their requests involve spending time on their own or at least without their children.
Some requests are much more simple and I can relate to those more:
- A hot drink
- To go to the loo on their own
- To have a hot bath alone
I think I must feel a little different to other mummies about Mother’s Day…
Yes of course, a 30 minute bath with bubbles would be lovely and perhaps I can do that when you are all sleeping.
The fact is that if it wasn’t for the four of you I wouldn’t even be able to call myself a mummy. Mother’s Day would always have been for someone else.
I have no desire to spend time without you on Mother’s Day because it is because of you that I get this day at all.
So please…jump on me, cuddle me, kiss me, fill the house will giggles and screams of laughter, and remind me why I deserve the MUMMY title.
I LOVE the daffodils you grew for me at school, the pictures you did of me, the card made at nursery, the scrawly drawing we sat and did together, and the cakes and brownies we baked together.
What do I want for Mother’s Day?
Just you!

Oh this is lovely! Made me smile. We had made plans to see friends on Sunday (booked way in advance without realising it was Mother's Day!) As nice a day as I did have, I missed my little guy a lot so next year will be all about fun with him!!! Thanks so much for linking to #countluckystars xx
