National Handwriting Day: the benefits of writing over typing

Today is National Handwriting Day! Yes, there is a special day for this, so what better time to give some thought to our own handwriting and that of our children?

I am a mum of four (1 girl and 3 boys). Raising my children is the privilege of my life. It's also incredibly complex and challenging - and that's parenthood right there, a beautiful contradiction.

Our favourite times together are going on family adventures - that might be travelling or it might just be exploring the woodland or mountains where we live in beautiful Wales. We are crazy about skiing and love living in the countryside. Normally found outdoors!
