Right now we are living in unprecedented times, as a global pandemic continues to sweep across the world. It’s fair to say that 2020 has not gone to plan for most people. Nationwide lockdowns and a ban on all non-essential travel meant that thousands of sporting events, festivals, weddings and holidays were cancelled across the world, leaving lots of very disappointed individuals.
Glamping has certainly taken the world by storm, and there are now numerous glamping facilities and accommodation options around the world that have brought traditional camping to a whole new level. Camping will always have its enthusiasts, of course, but if you’re the sort who likes the idea of being with and in nature, but isn’t really keen on sleeping uncomfortably or dealing with damp and moisture or bugs and other forest creatures, then glamping is worth a try.
Whilst none of us are going very far at the moment, that won’t always be the case. Whether it is for the sheer spirit of adventure or a force of circumstances, you will probably find yourself travelling with kids at one point.
My love of the mountains began when I was was five years old. My dad, an adrenaline junkie, booked a family skiing holiday, because he thought it was something we should try as a family. My mum, a total heights and speed-phobic, wasn’t so keen, but she went along with it.

Until this summer I had never heard of Llyn Brenig Reservoir, and i’ve lived in North Wales for 17 years now. We actually drove passed it on the way to Bala Lake this summer and after a quick google I decided I had to check it out with the children. We LOVED it!

Moel Famau is the highest hill within the Clwydian Range and the highest point of the county of Flintshire in Wales. The hill lies on the boundary between Denbighshire and Flintshire. It’s a great place to go walking as a family.
