For all of us, 2020 has started with an unexpected twist. Typically for this time of year, the weather is getting warmer and the nights are lasting longer, but our doors and plans are remaining firmly shut and sealed. Last week of the Easter holidays here this week, so we’ve eased off on the formal work and learning and opted to spend as much time outside as possible.
Technically we are in the school holiday period now, so the children would have been off school anyway – but with so many people having to cancel their plans due to COVID-19, and having spent the last two weeks home schooling children, the lines have become a bit blurred. We love climbing frames and wooden swing and slide sets, and we’ve seen so many benefits from taking the children to different parks over the years. Every school holiday we spend a day doing a tour of the local parks, and we try out at least one that we haven’t been to before.
