This week began a little differently to the others, with one of the children going into school for a two hour session. Today was just for year 7 pupils. The school did a brilliant job and children seemed happy, appearing with a cereal bar and a pack of antibacterial wipes at the end of the session.

We started this week with high hopes for the weather. The forecast was good, so we were hoping to be outside a lot more again. The week started off very gloomy though, not at all what was forecast.

We began the week with a birthday celebration in our family, so there were lots of games, cake and general celebrations to kick off the week. It was lovely. We managed a zoom party with some friends, with a magic show and some party games.

This week has been a really wet week. It’s been a massive contrast to the glorious weather we’ve mainly had over the lockdown weeks so I think it was a bit of a shock to the system. We don’t let the rain stop us getting outside, but it does reduce the amount of time we spend outside.

We’ve had stunning weather this week, how about you? It’s been glorious and we’ve taken the learning outside as much as possible, once all the bits and bobs we need to do online have been done.

This week, some children in England have returned to school. In Wales, that hasn’t happened yet, but this week we have heard that schools in Wales will re-open at the end of June. It does not seem that this will be in a teaching capacity, but more of a checking-in with pupils prior to the summer holidays and September. Plans were also announced regarding extending the summer term by one week.
Summer lockdown wardrobe essentials
When we think of summer essentials, we perhaps think of the things we take on holiday with us. All the classic bits and bobs we pack in our suitcases prior to that wonderful summer sun holiday – sadly, due to the ‘minor issue’ of a global pandemic it’s very unlikely that anyone will be travelling anywhere this summer.
