HOME SCHOOLING DURING COVID-19: WEEK 11

This week, some children in England have returned to school. In Wales, that hasn’t happened yet, but this week we have heard that schools in Wales will re-open at the end of June. It does not seem that this will be in a teaching capacity, but more of a checking-in with pupils prior to the summer holidays and September. Plans were also announced regarding extending the summer term by one week.

‘Home-schooling’ during lock down: the challenges

I said early on in this process that home schooling is a choice, this is crisis schooling and that is something very different. It’s also different for those families who normally home school their children – why? Well, because they won’t be used to being schooled 100% from home either, they will be used to outdoor learning, museum trips and other learning excursions.
