One of the things I keep playing through my head is the number of times I’ve said that I wish I had more time for X, Y or Z. I’ve had a list as long as my arm of things I wanted to get done at home, in the garden and so on – what’s that saying? Be careful what you wish for!
‘Back to school’ after the Easter Holidays today, such as it is. We’ve been working our way through the various tasks set by school this week. For the little boys that means uploading their work via the See Saw App, and for the older children, via the online system they use to send their work to their teachers.
Childs Farm know a thing or two about hand washing. Indeed, Joanna Jensen founded the company out of necessity as both she and her daughters were experiencing issues with dry skin. So, to support their new WASH-DRY-MOISTURISE campaign, they’ve created a Childs Farm styled fun hand wash song and guidance to help support the nation in keeping hands safe and soft!
In this extraordinary moment in world history, we’re collectively facing a crisis that requires a simple action from as many people as possible: remaining in your own home. With a highly infectious virus moving through the global population, it’s our collective responsibility to limit ourselves, remaining in our homes to slow the transmission of the virus and prevent health services around the world becoming overloaded with patients.
BC (before Coronavirus) I did 95% of my shopping online, including the weekly food shop. At the point we learnt that schools were closing I was unable to get a delivery slot with my usual supermarket. I have since been trying all the supermarkets who deliver in our area and still haven’t managed to get a delivery slot, so it’s been easier for one of us to head to the shops in the evening every 10 days or so.
For all of us, 2020 has started with an unexpected twist. Typically for this time of year, the weather is getting warmer and the nights are lasting longer, but our doors and plans are remaining firmly shut and sealed. With the outbreak of Covid-19, the government has enforced social isolation to minimise the risk of spreading the virus.
Last week of the Easter holidays here this week, so we’ve eased off on the formal work and learning and opted to spend as much time outside as possible.
We’ve collected tons of board games over the years. We always take a couple when we go away, but generally speaking ‘real life’ is so manic that there is rarely any time to just sit down and play a game.
